Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital

Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital, the 6th hospital of Hallym University Medical Center(HUMC), will be open in the vicinities of Seoul, in September 2012. Being located in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do, Dongtan will be an 18-minute drive from Samseong Subway Station in Gangnam, Seoul, by the Great Train Express(GTX) in 2015. The 790-bed hospital will have 14 floors above ground, and 3 floors underground.

The new hospital in Dongtan will be built on a total site of 21,000-odd square meters. The highly digitalized medical facility, equipped with a ubiquitous system and a cutting-edge IT telemedicine system, will eloquently showcase a landmark medical change for the future. The hospital will also be an eco-friendly facility using a solar photovoltaic(PV) cell system.

The 6th hospital of Hallym will play a vital role both as a local university hospital to promote the quality of regional healthcare. As a pioneering medical research facility in biomedical science with its research center for life science, it will strive to garner excellence in research and treatment.

The new hospital’s IT system will further be evolved by hooking itself up to the existing HUMC’s integrated information system, the RefoMax, to create synergy effects.
