Dr. Yong-Jun Cho, Professor of Neurosurgery at Hallym University Chuncheon Sacred Heart Hospital, and his team who developed an Anti-adhesion barrier using silk fibroin made a technology transfer agreement with G.han on June 17, 2016 at Hallym University R&D foundation.
This anti-adhesion barrier is a medical implant that can be used to prevent the second-order damage caused by tissue adhesion after surgery.
Prof. Cho said, I have been using Anti-adhesion barrier for more than 10 years to reduce prolonged pain after spine surgery resulted mostly from the adhesion between nerves and surrounding tissues. But I believe that this barrier will reduce the burden of the patients as it has reasonable price comparing to currently-used products with relatively high prices since most of them are being imported.
